"Any mixture of the adjectives "dark" and "goth" to describe current bands indebted to shoegaze is pretty tedious at this point. As descriptors they fall flat, especially when a band crops up who actually breathe life into this overworked genre, such as Austin's Single Lash, and their new, self-titled, full-length album." - Beth Tolmach for ADHOC.fm
"Deep and resonant with the force of something, if not occult, than primal. This is, after all, the method of Goth rather than the mere trappings."

'“Single Lash,” and Single Lash the band itself, are well-done breaks from the idea that dreary must always be dark (or is it vice versa), with the satisfying and even at times near ecstatic prettiness of the album pairing perfectly with the goth- and general 80s-British-Music-informed melancholia of the songs here. Which, truth be told, is just the way any good pain + pleasure thing should go (I guess in a way what I’m saying is that “Single Lash” is the consensual rough sex where everyone involved leaves bruised but happy of music).'

Austin's Single Lash selftitled full length is 60+ minutes of reverb filled shoegazey pop under a layer of gothic overtones and industrial haze. Single Lash is fronted by Nicolas Nadeau (also of Slow Pulse) backed by Colin Foster and Neil Lord (of Future Museums). Nicolas' haunting vocals add a chilling touch to an already dark work of art.
